35th anniversary concert

Bede Wind will be celebrating its 35th anniversary with a special concert in an iconic Victorian venue later this month.

We will be performing at The Exchange 1856 in North Shields’ cultural quarter at 7.30pm on Saturday June 22 – our first time at this hugely popular music/theatre events and food destination.

A varied programme of both regional favourites and international standards will include guest soloist soprano Bibi Heal.

Originally based in Springfield School in Jarrow, Bede Wind was formed in 1989 to allow pupils of the school to continue playing after leaving. It now attracts musicians from all across the north east of England.

We have performed at indoor and outdoor venues both home and abroad over the past three decades, including tours in the US and Europe.

Bede Wind is the resident wind band of The Glasshouse International Centre for Music on Gateshead Quayside. We rehearse downstairs in the Music Education Centre most Fridays (during school term time) from 7.30pm to 9pm.

Tickets for the June 22 concert can be purchased online here costing £10 (£9 concessions).
