Busy autumn ahead for Bede Wind

We are looking forward to a busy autumn season with four big concerts here on Tyneside.

First up is the annual Whitburn Prom at Whitburn Parish Church on Friday October 5th. It is the 20th year Bede Wind has performed here and there is always an excellent turnout and enthusiastic audience.

The programme includes standards such as Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory, but also some new music including our first ever public performance of LOL – a fast paced celebration of cartoon tunes donated to us by the generous and talented Delta Concert Band in Vancouver following our joint concert in Newcastle in June.

The following weekend sees us again supporting superb regional charity Daft As A Brush’s Last Night Of The Proms at Newcastle City Hall, which is raising funds for a new ambulance in support of the Great North Children’s Hospital. Ticket information for the concert at 7pm on Saturday October 13th can be found here.

Bede Wind is leading South Tyneside’s Civic Remembrance Service, marking the 100th anniversary of the end of World War One, at the Customs House, South Shields. The concert starts at 1.30pm on Sunday November 11th and tickets can be purchased here.

Finally, our annual Christmas concert is once again being held at Kings Hall, Newcastle University, at 7.30pm on Saturday December 15th. If you want a taster of this gig, see the videos of last year’s concert here.

We look forward to seeing you at one – or all – of these concerts soon!
