We have a busy week ahead, with three concerts – each with very different programmes.
On Sunday we are performing at Blyth Central Methodist Church’s Flower Festival – appropriately with a number of tunes on a floral theme!
Then on Tuesday night we will be performing in a joint concert in Gosforth with the Delta Concert Band from Vancouver (pictured), featuring traditional Northumbrian and Canadian music.
Finally, we are playing in an outdoor gig at Grey’s Monument, Newcastle, next Saturday (16 June) in aid of the Daft as a Brush charity.
Sunday’s concert in Blyth starts at 3pm.
Our guests for Tuesday night’s joint concert, the 34-strong Delta Concert Band, are travelling from the west coast of Canada for a ten day tour of England and Scotland, also playing in Newark, Callander, Hellensburgh and conducting a workshop at the Royal College of Music in Manchester.
The band was formed in 1964 and as well as playing at venues across British Columbia, has recently toured Holland, Belgium and France and also performed in Maui, Hawaii.
The concert is at Trinity Church, Gosforth, next Tuesday (12 June), starting at 7pm, and the Grey’s Monument free outdoor concert next Saturday (16 June) starts at 1pm.
Bede Wind will then have a summer break from performing before embarking on a very busy autumn programme starting in October – for more information on this go to our concerts page: bedewind.com/concerts
